Budget 2011-12 provided an additional $250 million to be used by the Regional Health Authorities to shorten wait times, enhance kidney and bone marrow transplant programs and increase health testing and screening appointments.

Authority

Collected under the authority of The Horse Racing Regulation Act.

Basis

Imposes a levy on bets wagered in Saskatchewan on pari-mutuel races.

Revenues are used by the Horse Racing Commission to provide grants to various racing tracks.

Rate

10% of the total amount of money wagered at race tracks.

Tax is remitted monthly.
